FAQ

Q-  Will my insurance benefits cover your services?

A:

MCI strives to assist all our patient’s needs, and most of our services are covered by extended health benefits. Before visiting our clinic, we encourage you to review your policy to explore important details regarding coverage and billing. After your appointment, MCI staff members are happy to assist you in contacting your insurance company and asking all the appropriate questions to determine your coverage and eligibility for all of our services. We can also assist you in submitting your insurance claim as well, as some insurance companies will allow us to bill them directly.

Q-  What should I know for my first appointment?

A:

We recommend you wear loose, comfortable clothing and close-toed comfortable shoes, like sneakers, to your appointment. Please arrive 15 minutes early, so you have time to fill out intake forms, and bring any materials (referrals, medical documents, etc.) that will be helpful or necessary for your care. Your appointment will begin with an assessment of your history and health concern, then your therapist will recommend a comprehensive course of treatment and a treatment plan that is best for you. We offer comprehensive treatment plans including Chiropractic Care, Registered Massage Therapy, Nutrition and Wellness, Foot Care Services/Products and more.

Q-  In order to receive a referral for insurance reimbursement, how do I find a family physician?

A:

Our team can connect you with an MCI The Doctor's Office physician for referrals, or any other medical assistant. The best way to find a family physician is to register with Health Care Connect.  Once you register, you’ll receive guidance in finding a physician in your area(s) of choice. Get started here

Q-  I need physiotherapy. Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a specialist?

A:

No, you do not require a doctor’s referral to book an appointment. If you receive a group/personal insurance, you may require a doctor’s referral in order to be reimbursed by your insurance provider for any charges you may incur during treatment.

Q-  What type of services do you offer?

A:

We offer a wide range of physiotherapeutic and rehabilitative services, including:
• Manual therapy
• Sport Injury Rehabilitation
• Injury Assessment & Education
• Ergonomic Education and Correction
• Individualized Exercise Prescription
• Arthritis Management
• Therapeutic products
• Therapeutic taping

• Acupuncture
• Running Analysis
• Chiropractic Care

Q-  Are your healthcare practitioners licensed and registered?

Q-  I think I have an injury. Can I call or email you for medical advice?

A:

MCI strives to assist all our patient’s needs, and our clinics have safety measures in place for your protection. According to these guidelines, medical advice is best given in person during an appointment at one of our facilities. We do not provide medical advice via email/telephone due to the Patient Medical/Legal Confidentiality Act.

Q-  If I have been in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) or have suffered a work related injury (WRIB), will your clinic treat me?

A:

Yes — we do accept patients that may have been involved in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) or a workplace injury (WSIB). Please bring your motor vehicle accident information, insurance and adjustor information and all accident related reports to your first appointment), so that we can handle the entire process smoothly.
